Crystal Beauty Rituals: Your Path to More Radiance and Self-Love
Gua Sha – how do you properly massage with rose quartz and aventurine?
Gua Sha massage has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and roughly translates to "scraping for harmful substances". What was once applied to the whole body has now become an absolute favorite in the facial glow ritual. No wonder, because the combination of gentle lymphatic drainage and the fine vibration of the smoothly polished gemstones is a real treat for the skin.
At Happy Minerals, I rely on the classic heart shape. You have the choice between the delicate pink rose quartz, the stone of unconditional self-love, and the fresh, green aventurine, which is perfect for a lively start to the day. The wide, curved edge nestles perfectly against cheeks, forehead and neck, while the indentation of the heart shape is ideal for gently defining the jawbone and eyebrow area.
Step by step to your feel-good massage
For the ritual to optimally support your skin and be wonderfully relaxing, the correct handling of the stone is important:
1. The Base: Cleanse your face thoroughly. Then generously apply a high-quality facial oil or serum. The Gua Sha should always glide smoothly over the skin and never drag on dry areas.
2. The Angle: Keep the stone flat! Do not apply it at a 90-degree angle, but hold it at a shallow angle (approx. 15 to 30 degrees) against the skin.
3. The Direction: Always work from the inside out and from bottom to top. For example, from the center of the chin up to the earlobe, or from the eyebrows up to the hairline.
4. The Pressure: Less is more. A gentle, feather-light pressure is completely sufficient to stimulate lymphatic flow. It should feel good at all times.
5. The Repetition: Stroke each section about 3 to 5 times. Even a few minutes a day work wonders.
6. The Process: Start at the neck to open the lymphatic pathways, work your way up over the jawline and cheeks, and finally gently stroke the forehead.
How to keep your Gua Sha beautiful for a long time: Cleaning & Care
After each use: Simply wipe off oil and serum residues with a soft cloth and rinse the stone with lukewarm water.
Deep cleaning: Once a week, your stone will appreciate a cleaning with some cosmetic alcohol – especially important if a partner or friend also uses it.
Energetic Reset: Occasionally place your cleaned stone in the gentle light of the full moon or the first rays of the morning sun to energetically recharge it.
My personal freshness tip: Store your Gua Sha in the refrigerator! The cool stone massage in the morning banishes puffiness in no time and makes you wonderfully awake.
A Rose Quartz Gua Sha wonderfully cradles you with its soft energy – ideal for a soothing evening ritual. The Aventurine Gua Sha, on the other hand, is my personal pick-me-up for the morning when the day calls for fresh energy.
Amethyst – the silent companion for mind and skin
For me, amethyst is the absolute "Zen master" among beauty stones. Its fascinating purple hues are created by traces of iron in the quartz, combined with natural terrestrial radiation over millions of years – a true work of art of time. While carnelian stimulates and invigorates us, amethyst softly whispers: "Breathe out, let go, and find your calm."
Even the nature-loving Hildegard von Bingen knew about the qualities of amethyst and recommended it for external care. A very simple method to bring this ancient knowledge into modern times is the production of amethyst water:
How to make it yourself: Place a smooth, thoroughly cleaned amethyst tumbled stone overnight in a vessel with boiled, cooled water. The next morning, you'll have a wonderfully gentle facial toner. You can apply it with a cotton pad or pour it into a spray bottle for a refreshing spritz throughout the day.
An important piece of advice from me: In case of acute sunburn, open wounds, or inflamed skin areas, no stone should be placed on the skin – here, medical advice and classic wound care are required. Gentle caution is also always advisable when using on children.
✨ Chakra: Crown Chakra – provides clarity, structure, and inner peace.

Rock Crystal & Rose Quartz – two more companions for your aura
There are two absolute classics of the crystal world that really shouldn't be missing from any self-care repertoire because they are so wonderfully versatile:
Rock Crystal – the pure amplifier
Rock crystal is pure, completely colorless quartz and is considered the ultimate amplifier in crystal healing. It purifies energies and truly brings out the effects of other stones. You can perfectly incorporate it into your cream jar ritual along with carnelian or amethyst to feel their vibrations even more intensely. With its clear, uncluttered nature, it adapts perfectly to any mood.
Rose Quartz – the gentle constant
Many value rose quartz as a Gua Sha, but it also exudes its wonderfully soft, warm energy as a classic palm stone. It reminds us with every glance to treat ourselves with love and gentleness. It looks fantastic on the bedside table, as a companion during a short meditation, or as a second stone in your daily skincare routine.
✨ Crown Chakra Rock Crystal: Crown Chakra – stands for focus, clarity, and energy amplification.
✨ Rose Quartz Chakra: Heart Chakra – nourishes self-love and gentle radiance.
♎ Zodiac signs: Libra and Taurus love rose quartz – rock crystal is a wonderful all-rounder for all signs.

Pink Rock Salt – brine, bath and room purification from the foothills of the Himalayas
Even though salt is not a classic gemstone purely scientifically, pink rock salt is an inseparable part of every holistic well-being ritual for me. Our natural, raw salt chunks come from the famous Salt Range in Punjab (Pakistan) – one of the oldest salt deposits on Earth, located in the geological foothills of the mighty Himalayan massif. This valuable natural treasure was formed over 250 million years ago by the drying up of ancient seas.
The beautiful color, ranging from deep amber to delicate pastel pink, is due to natural mineral inclusions, primarily iron. Since it was protected deep within the earth for millions of years, it is free from modern environmental influences. With over 80 fine trace elements (including valuable magnesium and calcium), it is a wonderfully unadulterated natural product. Each piece fascinates with its own shape and charming, almost glassy lines that shimmer beautifully in the light.
A warm, important note: Our natural salt chunks are intended exclusively for cosmetic external applications and energetic purposes. They are not table salt and are not suitable for consumption.
The Brine Bath: Velvety Soft Relaxation
A brine is essentially the pure combination of salt and water – a wonderful treat for stressed skin. For a relaxing full bath, simply add a few salt chunks to the warm water. As they slowly dissolve, they transform your bathwater into a velvety care oasis that wonderfully caresses your skin.
How to create your brine bath:
1. Depending on the size of the tub, add about 100 to 300 grams of the rock salt chunks directly into the running, warm water.
2. Let the chunks melt in peace and enjoy the bath for approx. 15 to 20 minutes.
3. For the ultimate spa feeling: Add a few drops of pure essential oil (e.g., lavender to unwind or rose for the soul).
4. After the bath, shower briefly with lukewarm water and ideally let the skin air dry gently.
Brine Compresses: Targeted Care
It doesn't always have to be the whole tub. You can also prepare a small, highly concentrated brine: simply let salt chunks melt in a small vessel with warm water until the salt no longer dissolves. Soak a clean cotton cloth in it and place it as a soothing compress on tired legs, the neck, or the stomach while you rest for a few minutes.
Brine Foot Bath: Perfect for the end of the day
When your feet are heavy after a long day, a handful of rock salt chunks in a bowl of warm water works wonders. Give your feet 15 minutes of rest – it's incredibly grounding and simply washes away everyday stress.
Energetic Room Cleansing
Salt has been used for millennia in various cultures to cleanse rooms of heavy, stagnant energies. Just think of the Japanese Shinto tradition, where salt is specifically used at thresholds to clear old energies. You can easily replicate this at home:
Here's how: Decorate a handful of the pink chunks in a beautiful ceramic or glass bowl. Place them in areas where you spend a lot of time or where the air sometimes feels "thick" – such as in the entrance area, next to the bed, or at your workplace. It subtly and noticeably cleanses the atmosphere. After a few weeks, you can simply replace the salt.
Small tip for storage: Since salt naturally attracts moisture, please store your unused chunks in a dry place and not directly in a damp bathroom, as they will otherwise start to "sweat" over time.
"I cleanse my space and my thoughts. I let go of the old and create space for fresh, light energy."
✨ Chakra: Root Chakra & Sacral Chakra – for grounding and stability.
♋ Zodiac Signs: Cancer, Taurus, and Pisces will find deep relaxation here.

Frequently Asked Questions about Beauty Stones
How hard is Carnelian and is it suitable for everyday use?
Carnelian has a Mohs hardness of about 6.5 to 7. This means it is pleasantly robust, insensitive, and perfectly suitable for everyday use. It easily withstands daily handling as a worry stone or being in your face cream without damage.
How do I properly clean and care for my Gua Sha stone?
After each beauty ritual, you should briefly wipe the stone clean of oils with a cloth and rinse it under lukewarm water. To prevent bacteria, it is advisable to thoroughly disinfect the Gua Sha once a week with some cosmetic alcohol. For an energetic refresh, a short bath in the moonlight does it incredibly well.
How can I recognize genuine, untreated Carnelian?
Mother Nature loves small imperfections. A genuine, untreated Carnelian is characterized by flowing color transitions, lighter and darker zones, and fine, cloudy structures within. If a stone looks unnaturally bright, gaudy, and absolutely flawless-homogeneous, it has often been artificially enhanced. At Happy Minerals, we place great emphasis on naturalness – our Carnelians come directly from Botswana and are individually hand-picked by us.
Can I drink the pink rock salt or use it internally?
No, please do not. Our raw rock salt chunks are purely decorative and wellness objects for external use (such as brine baths and compresses) or energetic room clearing. They are not certified as food or for internal use. Please also store them dry and outside of humid bathrooms.
