Crystalline rose quartz, however, forms real, transparent to translucent individual crystals with visible crystal structure and is significantly rarer. It belongs to the mineral class of silicates, quartz group, with a Mohs hardness of 7. The tiny golden muscovite inclusion (a mica mineral from the phyllosilicate group) makes this specimen even more unusual – such combinations are a real rarity in trade.
How do I properly care for my raw rose quartz stone?
Rose quartz can be briefly rinsed under lukewarm water – but with this delicate raw crystal, I would rather advise dry cleaning with a soft cloth, as the fine crystal tips can be sensitive. For charging, moonlight (especially at full moon), a selenite plate, or gentle smudging with Palo Santo or sage are suitable. Direct sunlight for a longer period should be avoided, as rose quartz can fade in color under intense UV light.
How do I recognize real crystalline rose quartz?
Real crystalline rose quartz shows visible crystal faces, slight transparency, and an irregular, naturally grown form. Dyed glass or synthetic imitations, on the other hand, look too perfect, too uniformly pink, and have no real crystal faces.
