Is this real citrine or heat-treated amethyst?
That's the most important question of all. Yes! This is a genuine natural citrine!
- The difference: Genuine natural citrine is formed by natural geothermal heat over millions of years. Heat-treated citrine is amethyst that has been briefly heated intensely in a kiln until it turns orange.
- Distinguishing feature: Natural citrine is usually pale yellow, champagne-colored, or smoky yellow . It does not have a pure white base (root). Heat-treated amethyst is often bright orange or almost brown and often has a chalky white layer at the bottom.
No cleaning required?
In crystal healing, it is often said that citrine (as one of the few stones) does not store negative energy, but transforms it and therefore does not need to be energetically cleansed (many still do it out of habit).
