What makes this Pyrite Fish so special?
Pyrite is an iron sulfide (FeS₂) with a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5 and crystallizes cubically – its characteristic cubic or pentagonal crystal faces result from a remarkably ordered atomic structure. Can I clean my pyrite with water?
No – pyrite should under no circumstances come into contact with water! Water triggers a chemical reaction in which sulfuric acid can form, which will destroy the stone in the long term and make its surface dull and stained. To clean, simply use a dry, soft brush or a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Moonlight is excellent for recharging – simply place it on the windowsill overnight. Alternatively, place it on a selenite plate or cleanse it energetically with incense (e.g., Palo Santo).

Real pyrite has a characteristic metallic luster in warm brass-gold – cooler and less orange than gold, but unmistakably different from any polished metal or synthetic material.
