Tigerauge verträgt kurzes Abspülen unter lauwarmem Wasser problemlos – dank seiner Mohshärte von 7 ist er wasserfest. Für eine tiefere Reinigung empfehle ich Räuchern mit Palo Santo oder Salbei, oder eine Nacht auf einem Selenit-Plättchen. Direktes Sonnenlicht über längere Zeit kann die Farben leicht ausbleichen lassen – am schönsten bleibt er bei indirektem Licht. Als Skulptur reicht sanftes Abstauben mit einem weichen Tuch völlig aus.
Woran erkenne ich echtes Tigerauge?
Echtes Tigerauge zeigt beim Drehen ein lebendiges, wanderndes Lichtband – das ist die natürliche Chatoyanz, die sich nicht imitieren lässt.
