This ammonite fossil bowl from Morocco carries millions of years of history within it – embedded in deep black, mirror-polished limestone. Several ammonite spirals stand out in cream and gray against the dark matrix, the central ammonite knob sitting majestically like a seal from prehistoric times. I (Dany) use such bowls on my altar to place rings, small crystals, or incense sticks – they transform any table into something magical.

How do I care for my ammonite shell?
Simply wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth – no abrasives, no acids. This will keep the highly polished limestone beautiful for a long time. Occasionally, you can rub in a thin layer of olive oil or neutral oil to refresh the shine and intensify the dark color.
How old are the fossils in the shell?
The ammonites in these Moroccan slabs date predominantly from the Devonian period and are approximately 350–400 million years old. These marine animals lived in primeval oceans – today, as polished works of art in every home, they are a conversation starter and a piece of living Earth history.
What can I use the fossilized bowl for?
