- The tower may have minimal chips of approx. 1 mm or less at the top and edges, barely visible to the naked eye – this is inherent to the stone and sometimes unavoidable. Specimen A carries a hint of Smoky Quartz. Specimen B glows with particularly intense colors. Specimen C shows fine Gold Rutilated Quartz inclusions and a small rough natural spot at the base.

What is Amphibole Quartz and what makes it so special?
Amphibole Quartz is a rock crystal (SiO₂, Mohs hardness 7) with enclosed amphibole minerals – often hornblende, actinolite, or richterite – which are responsible for the characteristic red, orange, and golden streaks. The inclusions form when amphibole crystals are embedded during quartz mineral growth. It belongs to the group of inclusion quartz and is sometimes also called "Angel Phantom Quartz" or "Lover's Stone," although these names are not mineralogically consistent. Its exceptional appearance makes it one of the most sought-after collector's stones from Brazil.
How do I properly care for my Amphibole Quartz Tower?
Amphibole Quartz can be briefly rinsed with lukewarm water – however, prolonged soaking is not recommended, as some amphibole minerals can be sensitive to moisture. With a Mohs hardness of 7, it is suitable for everyday use but should not be stored with harder stones. Moonlight, a selenite crystal, or gentle smudging with Palo Santo or white sage are suitable for charging. Direct, intense sunlight over a long period can cause the red inclusions to fade over time – a bright place without direct sun is ideal.
How can I recognize genuine Amphibole Quartz?
Genuine Amphibole Quartz shows cloudy, organically distributed streaks in red, orange, and golden tones that shimmer and appear deep within the stone when rotated – they do not look painted on or evenly distributed. Glass imitations feel warmer and show no natural inclusions or growth lines. Make sure that the top of the tower shows a natural crystal structure and that the stone feels cool in your hand – genuine quartz stays cool longer than glass. A small natural chip at the top, like on our specimens, is a typical sign that the crystal has truly grown.
What distinguishes specimens A, B, and C from each other?
Tower A is the largest and also carries a hint of Smoky Quartz – this gives it a smoky depth and a particularly grounding character. Tower B impresses with intense, bright red and copper-colored inclusions and is the most colorful of the three. Tower C is the most compact and shows fine Gold Rutilated Quartz inclusions that sparkle in the light, as well as a small rough natural spot at the base – a particularly untouched, wild energy feeling. All three have a minimal natural chip of approx. 1 mm at the top, which results from the growth process and has no impact on the energy.
