How do I care for my Blue Topaz pendant?
Topaz is very robust with a Mohs hardness of 8 – rinse briefly under lukewarm water and dry thoroughly. Polish the silver eyelet with a silver cleaning cloth. No ultrasonic cleaners – topaz has distinct cleavage and can break with strong vibrations. Energetically, you can wonderfully cleanse it in moonlight or with smudging. Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods. 🌊
Is blue topaz always naturally blue?
Honest answer: Naturally blue topaz exists but is rare. Most blue topazes on the market are colorless topazes that acquire their blue color through irradiation and heat treatment – a process recognized in gemology. Our pendant from Minas Gerais shows its color exactly as it comes from the mine – untreated, only polished. 🌊
