What makes these incense bombs special – and what's the difference from regular incense sticks?
Smudge Bombs, also called incense bombs, are compactly formed balls of herbs, resins, and binders – unlike incense sticks, they burn without a core and develop a particularly dense, intense smoke in a very short time. The Sagrada Madre Premium line uses fruit biomass as a sustainable charcoal alternative, which makes the smoke more even and aromatic. Each ball burns for approx. 8 minutes – which is completely sufficient for targeted space cleansing or a short ritual. The combination of yagra, myrrh, cinnamon, rosemary, and rue is deliberately chosen: it appeals to all senses, both energetically and olfactorily.
How do I use the incense bombs correctly and safely?
Place the incense bomb on a heat-resistant, non-flammable surface – an incense burner with some sand is ideal. In the shop, you will find the Original Sagrada Madre Cement Incense Burner. Light the tip, wait until it glows evenly, then gently blow out the flame. Be sure to ensure good ventilation: open a window a crack or ventilate briefly after burning. Never leave the incense bomb burning unattended and keep it away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Dispose of the ash responsibly after it has completely cooled. Less is more: one ball per room is completely sufficient.
Can I store the incense bombs and how long do they last?
Yes, the incense bombs can be stored excellently – ideally dry, protected from light, and at room temperature, e.g., in a drawer or a closed box. Moisture is the biggest enemy: it can soften the balls and impair their burning behavior. In a dry environment, they can be stored for 1–2 years without any problems. The original box is also good for storage, as it protects the balls nicely and looks good at the same time.
What do the ingredients mean spiritually – and what is Yagra?
Yagra is a South American resin traditionally used in Argentine and Latin American folk medicine for purification and attracting prosperity – comparable to Palo Santo, but with its own, earthier aroma. Cinnamon has been considered a plant of abundance and warmth for centuries, myrrh stands for clarity and connection to the higher self, rue (Ruta) is a classic protective ingredient in South American customs, and rosemary harmonizes and connects energies. Together, this results in a powerful blend that is harmonically balanced both energetically and aromatically.
