How do I properly care for my Sea Jasper bowl?
Sea Jasper can be briefly rinsed with lukewarm water and then dried well – it tolerates brief water contact without problems. Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided, as intense UV radiation can fade the colors over time. You can occasionally refresh the polished bowl with a soft cloth – this will maintain its beautiful shine.
How do I recognize genuine Sea Jasper?
Genuine Sea Jasper always shows natural irregularity in its pattern – no two specimens are alike. The typical orbicular circular structures are unevenly distributed, never perfectly uniform. Genuine Sea Jasper feels pleasantly cool and has a certain scratch hardness at Mohs 6.5–7 – you cannot scratch it with your fingernail.

Translucency means that light can shine through the stone – not completely like with a crystal, but enough to make fine internal structures visible when backlit. In the case of bowl 3, this creates a fascinating play of lamellae, which is caused by different mineral layers inside the stone. Additionally, this bowl has small natural druzy inclusions – tiny cavities where quartz crystals have formed and shimmer in the light.
