Shattuckite was first discovered in 1915 in the Shattuck Mine in Bisbee, Arizona – named after this very mine, where it formed between malachite and chrysocolla. It belongs to the family of copper minerals and forms when copper-rich water reacts under the influence of oxygen – a geological process that produces stones of this quality in only a few places worldwide. Among collectors, Shattuckite is considered one of the most coveted copper minerals of all – its electric blue is more intense than chrysocolla, rarer than turquoise, and hardly found in pendant quality. Those who wear it carry something most people have never held before. 🌍

Shattuckite is a delicate copper mineral – no water, no cleaning agents. Dusting with a soft, dry cloth is perfectly sufficient. Keep the adjustable cord dry. 💙
What distinguishes Shattuckite from Chrysocolla and Turquoise?
All three are copper-bearing blue stones – but Shattuckite is the rarest and most intense of the three. Chrysocolla is softer and often opaque. Turquoise is more stable and widespread. Shattuckite displays an electric, almost luminous blue that the others cannot achieve – and it forms only under very specific geological conditions.
