Sunset Labradorite is a particularly color-intensive variety of Labradorite from Madagascar, known primarily for its warm gold and bronze play – complemented by occasional blue and green reflections, the so-called labradorescence phenomenon. This optical phenomenon is created by the refraction of light on fine layered structures within the stone, called lamellae. Labradorite belongs to the feldspar group and has a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5.
