What is Super Seven and why is it so special?
Super Seven, also known as Melody Stone, is an extraordinary combination of seven minerals in a single stone: Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Cacoxenite, Goethite, Lepidocrocite, and Rutile. All seven components are intergrown within the quartz matrix – not as inclusions, but as a structural component. It comes almost exclusively from a single mine in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Its Mohs hardness is about 7, so it is robust enough for everyday wear as a pendant.
One of the largest Super Seven pendants we've ever been able to get – and yet not too heavy due to its pleasantly smooth, flat shape.
How do I properly care for my Super Seven pendant?
Super Seven can be briefly held under running water – however, it should not be bathed permanently, as the iron-containing minerals (Goethite, Lepidocrocite) can show long-term surface changes when exposed to moisture. For charging, moonlight, a selenite crystal, or smudging with Palo Santo or white sage are particularly suitable. Direct, intense sunlight for hours should be avoided, as the amethyst content can fade. You can replace the black cotton cord yourself at any time.
How can I identify genuine Super Seven?
Genuine Super Seven shows internal structures: silky streaks of lepidocrocite (reddish-orange), rutile needles (golden or reddish), cloudy to milky zones of cacoxenite, and violet amethyst clouds. A completely clear, uniformly violet stone without internal markings is not a genuine Melody Stone. Unfortunately, dyed quartz is often sold as Super Seven on the market – a careful look under light reveals the lack of internal complexity. Quality is shown by depth, not by perfect color.
What distinguishes light Super Seven from darker material?
This pendant has a lighter, more delicate quality – with less dark amethyst-violet. This makes it particularly light to wear and more subtle in appearance: perfect for people who prefer fine, spiritual jewelry. Darker Super Seven contains more amethyst and smoky quartz and has a stronger color tone – both variants are authentic, just different in their energetic emphasis.
